Still life — advertising campaigns

Three photographic campaigns for fragrance and jewellery, from concept to shoot.

Three hypothetical photographic campaigns for fragrance and jewellery products. From defining the concept and building the moodboards through to the shooting phase, each proposal explores a different visual style — from stark minimalism to an emotive shoot with a model — to tell the distinct identity of each brand.

Bel Ami. The starting point was a study of the brand and how it communicates, usually through bright colour and dreamlike settings. A direction I chose not to follow, because it didn't feel right for the object itself: a men's fragrance, leather and character. Hence the claim — a scent that isn't for everyone — and the staging that follows from it.

No face: a half-figure arm bursting through the paper backdrop, so the eye goes to the bottle rather than the person. The backdrop is the deep red of the label, the tear is real and stays visible at the edges, and the pose holds the product high, out of reach of whoever is looking.
